Sedum ‘Orange Xenox’
You will rarely find Sedum ‘Orange Xenox’ for sale—which is a shame because it is such a good plant. Like its sister sedum plants, it flowers in late summer, through to late autumn. What sets it apart, however, is that its flowers are of a beautiful orange-pink shade. In combination with its reddish-purple leaves, this sedum goes particularly well in a hot-colour border, as well as a mixed border, or patio container.
Bred in The Netherlands, and a cross between Sedum ‘Xenox’ and Sedum ‘Sunkissed’, this particular Sedum changes colour through the season: in early summer its flower buds are pale purple, and when the flowers open, they are deep yellow at first, and change through orange to finish off a very soft pink.
Hylotelephium telephium ‘Orange Xenox’ᴾᴮᴿ is ideal for the front of a border in full sun or part-shade. It’s a great choice for attracting bees and butterflies. Finally, the blooms may be cut for indoor decoration—fresh or dried.
